FLUX EQUALIZER

Privacy Policy

Last updated · 14 April 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Flux Equalizer ("we", "us", "the app") handles information when you use our Android application.

In short

Flux does not record or transmit your audio. We don't ask for your name, email, or any personal information. Your settings stay on your device. We use anonymous diagnostics to fix crashes and improve the app — nothing more.

01

Information we do not collect

Flux Equalizer does not record, store, or transmit your audio. The equalizer, bass boost, loudness, virtualizer, and audio balance features process sound in real time using the Android AudioEffect APIs. No audio content ever leaves your device.

We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or any personally identifying information.

02

Information processed locally on your device

The following data stays on your device and is never uploaded to our servers:

  • Your equalizer settings, saved profiles, and preferences
  • The package name of the media app currently producing audio (used only to display a label and apply your settings to the correct audio session)
  • App session counts and usage duration (used to decide when to show an in-app rating prompt)
03

Diagnostics and analytics

To improve stability and quality, the app uses the following services. Each collects only anonymous diagnostic data:

  • Firebase Crashlytics — crash reports and non-fatal errors
  • Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage events (for example, which features are toggled)
  • Firebase Remote Config — lets us enable or disable certain features without shipping an update
  • Microsoft Clarity — anonymous session telemetry to help us understand how the app is used

A random anonymous user ID is generated on first launch so these services can group events from the same installation. This ID is not linked to your identity.

You can disable analytics and crash reporting by turning off "Usage & diagnostics" in your Android system settings.

04

Permissions we request

  • MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS and RECORD_AUDIO — required by the Android AudioEffect APIs to apply audio enhancements. We do not actually record audio; the permission is needed only because the platform groups audio-session APIs under this permission.
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS — to show the foreground-service notification while the equalizer is active.
  • FOREGROUND_SERVICE (specialUse subtype) — to keep the equalizer active while you listen to music in any app.
  • REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS — so Android does not kill the service while it is running.

None of these permissions are used to collect personal data.

05

Data retention

Local settings remain on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. Anonymous diagnostic data sent to Firebase and Microsoft Clarity is retained according to their respective policies.

06

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect information from children.
